2. Trip towards Saswad

Yesterday evening we drove out towards Saswad with a couple of friends. During the monsoons one just needs to drive a few kms outside the city of Pune to enjoy the pleasures of a hill station. We took the Khondwa road to reach atop this hill with a picturesquely placed Shiva Temple. We were completely blown away! I mean literally – the breeze was tremendous and brr chilly and the view breath-taking. Here are some pictures to soothe the eyes.

The Temple atop a hill and one below.

That should be a good vantage point.

Closer look

Managed to see a Sykes crested lark on the ground

and some painted storks in the sky

What a view!

How's that for a water tank!

On the way back we visited this grand Jain temple in Katraj. We were just in time to grab some hot, hot 'wada pavs' at the popular stall on MG Road, which made for a perfect July sunday outing.
